Its another new year and with that the end of the 2008 Holiday season. All the gifts were wrapped and given, the turkey and ham are consumed, and the New Year's toast is over.
Although, the holidays are great and fun, it seems there is always some stress to the holidays also. Trying to find the perfect gift for friends and family seems to be the biggest one. What do you get someone who has everything? What do you get older people? What will you do with 4 packages of socks?
The traffic is always horrible around Christmas. Then the weather will always come into play. I have never been one who liked to be driving around in the snow or ice.
Some people also travel during the holidays by plane or train or automobile. I haven't been on a plane since I was two years old and I can't say I miss it. There is always the probability of losing luggage.
So it is time to look forward to the new year. A new president will soon be in office. Hopefully the economy makes a comeback and people keep or find jobs.
Every year will still have some elements from the previous year. Trash will still have to be taken out, the car will need to be inspected, and the property taxes will always arrive in spring.
Here is to a new year and all the possibilities it encompasses.
